GVPRSSA also boasts a stellar nationally affiliated public relations firm, GrandPR. The firm compromised of young professionals also won the Best Campaign Award at the 2016 PRSSA National Conference. Grand Valley’s PRSSA chapter is led by president Ashley Mamula, and their two advisors, Adrienne Wallace and Derek DeVries.
Ferris State University is nestled in downtown Big Rapids, Michigan, only a short one-hour drive from GVSU. Ferris PRSSA offers their members hands-on public relations experience through their student run firm, Rapid PR, as well as fundraising and philanthropy experience. Being so close to each other is convenient for more than just networking reasons – both chapters also share the same parent PRSA chapter, the West Michigan Public Relations Society of America. The relationship between the two chapters exemplifies the power of networking, collaboration, and professionalism among young professionals; The core values of PRSSA National, itself. Both PRSSA chapters look forward to strengthening their dynamic-duo relationship while planning and executing #PRinGR.
