These accolades were earned with ease and awarded to one of the fast growing cities in the Midwest, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Nestled in the heart of the Midwest and neighboring beautiful Lake Michigan, Grand Rapids is home to a vibrant community and booming job opportunities. Home turf of the 2017 PRSSA Regional Conference, Generation Grand: Experience PR in GR, Grand Rapids is an ideal location for budding professionals.

Because of its central location, hospitality, and expansive job opportunities, Grand Valley State University and Ferris State University PRSSA Chapters could not be more thrilled to welcome you to a weekend full of networking, professional development and entertainment.

Let’s break this down…

What:
Each spring, PRSSA Chapters host a variety of Regional Conferences endorsed by PRSSA National, in regions around the country. These events are similar to conferences hosted by PRSSA National, but are more cost-friendly and localized. Generation Grand: Experience PR in GR will be one of 10 PRSSA Regional Conferences hosted in 2017.

What does Generation Grand: Experience PR in GR mean? That’s easy: Being fully enveloped in the creative energy and entrepreneurial spirit of West Michigan.

Regional Conference attendees will meet and hear from regional leaders on the following topics:

  • Green Thinking
  • Corporate Responsibility
  • Place & Space Making
  • Keeping Talent in the Midwest
  • Millennial Success
  • Beer City USA
  • World Class Health Care
  • Notable Nonprofits

When:
We’ll be taking over Beer City U.S.A. on Friday, April 7 through Sunday, April 9.

Where:
Generation Grand: Experience PR in GR will be held at Grand Valley State University’s Seidman Center, located at 50 Front Avenue Southwest in Grand Rapids. Hotel accommodations will be available in the near future. Keep in mind that all activities (spanning the entire weekend) will be within walking-distance.

Why:
Regional Conferences are planned and hosted by PRSSA Chapters, and are an opportunity for individuals to get outside of their comfort zone, network, and learn about the industry. The opportunities for Generation Grand: Experience PR in GR attendees are limitless. Hundreds of similar-minded college students and public relations industry professionals in the same place, at the same time. What’s not to love? (We’re envisioning an abundant amount of caffeine consumption and a trending hashtag, or two… to say the least.)
